🦈 WHITE SHARK BROOKES PINGS IN OFF KITTY HAWK, NC Juvenile female white shark Brookes measured 8 ft. 10 in. and weighed an estimated 456 lbs at the time of tagging. Her latest ping (6/9) placed her ~5 miles off Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, as she continues her seasonal migration north. Many white sharks in the western North Atlantic use the waters off the Carolinas as a staging area before continuing toward summer and fall foraging habitats farther north.
