Why does Recology use such a poor system of emailing their Bills by just labeling them NOREPLY and not even labeling their bill as from Recology? No wonder I missed the bill last time. They should talk with the vendor they are using (which appears to be kubra.com and have them fix this issue. Very unprofessional.

Your website is awful. You make it really difficult to enroll in autopay, what I tried a year ago. Just tried again. You erase everything in the online app after you don't like the password. Who does your site and why do you keep paying them. It's just plain stupid. I used to pay you months ahead but you couldn't keep track of that either and kept over billing. If I had another option I'd take it. I don't. So I just have to deal with your ineptitude and air mail you a check so you don't cut my service off. Pretty cr4ppy customer relations all around and from day one. I'm not a fan. Get it together.

Forever embracing change will be the theme for honoree Jackie Sillman, Recology Public Relations Manager's speech at the annual Boy Scouts of America PUSH Dinner today in Marysville. The annual dinner for the Yuba-Sutter area raises funds and awareness for local Scouts, and at the same time honors a community member for their contributions. “This is a historic year for us,” said Matthew Poye, field director for BSA. “This is our first year of boys and girls being completely integrated. Jackie is a pillar of the community and she strongly believes in women becoming leaders. Honoring her helps align her cause with what we do. It was an easy choice.” Sillman is involved in an international women’s organization called Soroptimist International. She worked at Rideout Hospital for 13 years, and has been at Recology for some 20 years. She regularly volunteers for various causes around town. (And she was a Girl Scout in the 1960s). “I met Jackie through my campaigning,” said Wendell Anderson, the Yuba County Sheriff-Coroner. He’s also the chairman of the PUSH dinner. “Since then, I’ve noticed how much she has done for the community. She’s very involved.” Sillman was excited when she was invited to be the honoree. “I love the direction the Boy Scouts are going in,” Sillman said. “It’s very important to me that boys and girls are treated the same. I was invited to be an honoree the day after they announced girls can be a Scout.” Sillman said the announcement made her heart swell because even though Girl Scouts is a wonderful program, their focus is different. She said the Boy Scouts have more emphasis on survival and outdoor activities, so she’s glad young girls will also have that chance. Congratulations Jackie from the Employee Owners of Recology! 💙💚🌍

This Saturday, April 13, CleanScapes is partnering with Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP) for a cleanup in Williamsport. Kick starting the week-long SGP Richard James Memorial Cleanup, CleanScapes participants will remove litter from 1 mile of sidewalk right-of-ways on Little League Boulevard and West Fourth Streets. Cleaning up these public areas, before SGP's April 22-28 event, will highlight the importance of litter-free public spaces. Long pants are recommended, and closed toes shoes are mandatory (no bare feet or sandals). An extra jacket, hat and shoes are highly recommended. Youth between the ages of 12-17 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Volunteers with truck are welcome to assist by loading trash bags into trucks and driving to the nearby drop-off location to unload the filled bags. (Note: truck bed may get muddy or scratched.) Pre-registration is requested by 12 noon on Friday April 12. Registered volunteers will be provided donuts, gloves, trash bags, safety vests and refreshments. Volunteers are asked to meet in the Hepburn Plaza public parking lot on Hepburn Street in Williamsport. The cleanup event will take place between 10 a.m. and noon. Volunteer should arrive by at least 9:45 a.m. Registration and questions should be directed to Project Director Elisabeth Lynch McCoy at 570.726.3511 or clintoncountycleanscapes@yahoo.com. Download the event flyer, which includes additional directions to the meeting location. To learn more about the city-wide cleanup, where other events are occurring and how you can participate during their April 22-28 cleanup visit SGP at www.susquehannagreenway.org/williamsport-city-cleanup.
