By 2025, China aims to undertake a series of significant projects related to the national water network. The construction of major water networks will be expedited, with provincial, municipal, and county level water networks being systematically established. Special attention will be directed towards improving weak areas such as water resource allocation, urban and rural water supply, flood control and drainage, water ecological protection, and smart water networks. China will enhance its capacity for efficient and sustainable utilisation of water resources, optimise water resource allocation, and prioritise the preservation and restoration of river and lake ecosystems. Water network projects will be infused with advanced intelligence, ensuring improved water security for the country.
